Mark Cuban on damage from spamblogs: splog here, a splog there, pretty soon it ads up… and we all lose - Blog Maverick - www.blogmaverick.com

When I first pitched Scoble and Shel's Red Couch blog book (titled Blog or Die then and of course now known as Naked Conversations) part of my explanation to the internal audience as to why blogs would be important to business was their advantages over email: no spam and a pure opt-in model. But as Mark Cuban points out in A splog here, a splog there, pretty soon it ads up… and we all lose - Blog Maverick - www.blogmaverick.com _ those advantages will diminish if blog search engines are overwhelmed by useless blogs. No one has to subscribe to these blogs and get their junk mind you, but they'll make it harder for users to find useful blogs.
