Kathy Sierra: "For the love of god, DO NOT start with history!"

Showing her usual 6 sigmas of brilliance, Kathy Sierra says in some advice for presenters and writers alike "If I read just ONE more book about the web that starts with a history of the internet, I will have to take hostages. Seriously. Do any of us really need to know about DARPA and CERN and...?"

Hallelujah sister!

I know, please don't anyone respond by sending me a complete list of every book I've been an editor on in the last 10 years that starts with a "history chapter." I do tend to give authors freedom and final decision making and sometimes I can't talk them out of this.

So let's all cooperate and keep Kathy from having to do anything rash that might land her in jail. Put down the history book slowly and back away from the keyboard...
