I'm not a fan of "coming soon" announcements but this is also a call for participation. At the end of this month, we'll be launching new blogs on wrox.com. Specifically, they'll be part of the "programmer to programmer" p2p.wrox.com site, adding blogs to the existing forums functionality.
In addition to moving my book and tech blogging there (yes, wroxblog.typepad.com will eventually be replaced - I'll give some time for the crossover to take hold before I shut down or move this old site) I'm looking for Wrox authors and tech editors who'd like to blog on wrox.com. If you haven't already contacted me and would like to be involved in this, please let me know.
Answers to some common author questions about this:
- There's no exclusivity requirement
- There's no minimum monthly blog post quantity requirements
- We will ask that you stay "on topic" - topics that would interest programmers, not politics, religion, family life, etc unless there's a specific programming/development angle to it
- Unlike our previous blogging system experiment in 2004 which was a home-grown adaption missing some key usability features, this system is built from the common and popular Drupal CMS
- If you are active on the p2p.wrox.com forums, your account for the forums will be the same account for the blog
- You can configure your blog sidebar on wrox.com to pull headlines from another blog if you'd like to cross-promote another blog you write.
I'm looking forward to hearing from you if you'd like to be a part of this.
